FC Barcelona Logo

From the very moment Barça was founded, the club had its own emblem that the players proudly wore on their shirts. It was the coat of arms of the city of Barcelona, a diamond shape divided into four quarters, with a crown and a bat on top, and surrounded by two branches, one of a laurel tree and the other a palm. This, even at such an early stage, was a way of expressing the club’s link to the city in which it was born.

This badge remained unchanged until 1910. Shortly after Gamper had saved the club from serious crisis in 1908, a decision was made to give the club its own special crest. In 1910, the Club held a competition between all the members interested in presenting proposals. The winner was Carles Comamala, who played for the club between 1903 and 1912, and was a medical student at the time, as well as being a fine artist. And so, the crest that the club wears to this day was created, although there have been a few variations.

It is a bowl-shaped design, in which the two upper quarters maintain the St George Cross and the red and yellow bars of the original, which are the most representative symbols of Barcelona and Catalonia. The club initials FCB appear on a strip across the centre, and below are the Barça colours and a ball. So, what we have is a badge that honours the sporting dimension of the club as well as its connection to its city and country.

Since 1910, the changes made to the design have been minimal, generally just modifying the aesthetics and the patterns used for the outline. The biggest changes came about as a result of political obligations. When Franco came to power, the letters FCB were replaced by CFB, to reflect the way the club was forced to use the Spanish version of its name. The dictatorship also obliged the club to remove two of the four bars from one of the upper quarters, thus excluding the Catalan flag from the crest. On occasion of the club’s 50th anniversary in 1949, the four bars returned. The original letters were not recovered until late 1974, when the badge reverted to the original 1910 design.

The present crest is based on an adaptation made by designer Claret Serrahima in 2002, in which the lines are a little more stylised, the dots between the letters have been taken away, the name has been made smaller, and there are fewer pointed edges. The lines in this latest design are somewhat simpler, to make it easier for the crest and the club’s corporate identity to be reproduced in all the different formats.

FC Barcelona s Manchester City Preview

FC Barcelona will be hoping to secure their place in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages tomorrow, when they travel to the north of England to take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Barcelona were unplayable during their first meeting this season and the Spanish champions picked up a 4-0 win over Pep Guardiola‘s side at Camp Nou.
Manchester City have been very inconsistent lately and despite their 4-0 win over West Bromduring the weekend, they will need to be very careful against Barcelona. The win over the Baggies was City’s first in six matches. The Premier League side had conceded 9 goals in 5 matches before keeping a clean sheet against West Brom.
This is a vital match for City. They are just one point ahead of Gladbach in the standings and the Germans could overtake them if they lose again.
It will be interesting to see how Guardiola sets up for this game. His men were battered by Barcelona earlier this season and the world class manager might need to change his approach this time.
Vincent Kompany is expected to feature against Barcelona after sitting out the game against West Brom. Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta are still struggling with injuries.
Predicted Manchester City Starting Lineup (4-2-3-1): Caballero; Fernando, Stones, Otamendi, Kolarov; Fernandinho, Gundogan; Sterling, Nolito, Silva; Aguero

BARCELONA TEAM NEWS & PREVIEW

Barcelona have been in good form lately and will look to add to that with another win over City.
The Catalan giants picked up a 1-0 win over Granada this weekend and will be happy with a similar scoreline here.
Barcelona will want to qualify as the group winners and a victory here would more or less secure that for them. They are already five points clear of second-placed City.
The away side will be well aware of Guardiola’s strengths and weaknesses and will look to punish the inconsistent English side once again.
Gerard Pique and Jeremy Mathieu are both injured. Lucas Digne will replace Jordi Alba at left-back and Rafinha is expected to fill in for the injured Andres Iniesta in midfield.
Predicted Barcelona Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Roberto, Mascherano, Umtiti, Digne; Rakitic, Busquets, Rafinha; Messi, Suarez, Neymar

Boixos Nois

Hello cules ! Today i'm going to share you some info about FC Barcelona ultras. It is called Boixos Nois.
The Boixos Nois (English: Crazy Boys, from the Catalan word "Bojos" meaning crazy) is an ultras supporter group organised around the football club FC Barcelona, based in the Spanish autonomous community Catalonia. Founded in 1981 it was composed of left-leaning Catalan nationalists, until a surge of skinheada joining in the mid-1980s saw the political orientation turn from Catalan nasionalism and socialism to far-right Catalan separitism and far-right Spanish nasionalism. For many years the Boixos Nois enjoyed a close relationship with FC Barcelona until former president Joan Laporta banned their presence at games in 2003.
They are notorious in Spain for their violent behaviour and frequent clashes with authorities, with some members being convicted for death threats, murder, illegal firearms possession, extortion and drug trafficking.
Founded in 1981, the Boixos is a Catalan mix between a financial support group and a fan club. The Boixos Nois started as a small group of no more than 50 young fans, who strongly identified with pro-independence Catalan nationalism and left-wing socialism.
Since its foundation, the group was hated by a high numer of people in the stadium, who was used to see the matches with an absolutely tranquility, but these boys, started to shout, bring flags and threw flares.
Quick they became enemies of some fascist and Spanish nationalist groups like LFN (Zaragoza) or Ultras Sur (Real Madrid).
In the following years, the city of Barcelona experienced an eruption in skinheads, who identified with right-wing separatism. The skinheads joined the Boixos Nois and slowly moved their political ideology from social-liberalism to fascism, causing factions within the group. Inspired by British hooligans, the remaining Boixos Nois became violent. The first fights with other groups, especially against the Ultras Sur and the Espanyol Ultras, arrived.
Boixos Nois has got a friendship with the Standarte Bremen (SV Werder Bremen), with some ultras of Genoa C.F.C. and only some members of the ultras group of Barcelona has got a friendship with the Curva A/B from Naples (S.S.C. Napoli).

Tot el camp
és un clam
som la gent blaugrana
Tant se val d'on venim
si del sud o del nord
ara estem d'acord, ara estem d'acord,
una bandera ens agermana.
Blaugrana al vent
un crit valent
tenim un nom el sap tothom:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!
Jugadors, seguidors,
tots units fem força.
Son molt anys plens d'afanys,
son molts gols que hem cridat
i s'ha demostrat, i s'ha demostrat,
que mai ningu no ens podrà torcer.
Blaugrana al vent
un crit valent
tenim un nom el sap tothom:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

Lyric In English
The whole stadium
loudly cheers
We’re the blue and claret supporters
It matters not where we hail from
Whether it's the south or the north
Now we all agree, we all agree,
One flag unites us in brotherhood.
Blue and claret blowing in the wind
One valiant cry
We’ve got a name that everyone knows:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!
Players, Supporters
United we are strong.
We’ve achieved much over the years,
We’ve shouted many goals
And we have shown, we have shown,
That no one can ever break us.
Blue and claret blowing in the wind
One valiant cry
We’ve got a name that everyone knows:
Barça, Barça, Baaarça!

Sergio Aguero was the man of the show scoring twice in the first half and earning a hat-trick with 10 minutes left on the clock. The Foals went through the qualification stage in style, defeating Switzerland based side Young Boys 9-2 aggregate score. They are also doing well in Bundesliga after managing 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from their 5 matches so far. Barcelona started their 2016/2017 UEFA Champions League campaign in style with goal-fest victory over Celtic. FC Barcelona Match Preview vs Atletico Madrid

Image result for messi suarez neymar vs celticImage result for fc barcelona vs atletico madrid

FC Barcelona will be face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, 10 p.m. CET.  Diego Simeone's will facing the best attacker trio in La Liga. After the shock loss to Alaves on Week 3, Barcelona have got Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar back to team and unsurprisingly the trio carried the team back to the winning ways once again. .The team had a positive record on the last 2 games. They scored 12 goals and only consided 1 goals. FC Barcelona had a good record when facing Atletico in Camp Nou. Barcelona are undefeated on their last 15 matches againts Atletico on allo competitions.

I think this is not going to be an easy game for FC Barcelona. Atletico Madrid only consided 1 goals on their last 4 games. They have the best defensive record on La Liga. They have kept a cleansheet on they last 10 games on La Liga. Although the capital club are still unbeaten in La Liga, they have already drawn two of their four games dropping four points in the process.

However, they have managed to win their last two matches and that includes a 5-0 win over Gijon and a 4-0 thrashing of Celta Vigo. Both sides will fancy their chances here and it should be a fascinating tactical battle.Atletico Madrid will be without the services of Cerci, Tiago, and Moya for the trip to Barcelona.Simeone won’t be too bothered about that considering most, if not all, of his first choice players, are fit and available.

On the Blaugrana side, FC Barcelona new signing Central Back , Samuel Umtiti will not available. FC Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti suffered an internal ligament strain on his left knee during Tuesday morning's trainig season.
Therefore, the Frenchman will miss Wednesday’s match against Atletico Madridat the Camp Nou. The progression of his injury will determine exactly how long he will be out for. Argentinian defender Javier Mascherano will be replace him.

Why I Love FC Barcelona?

Perhaps readers are wondering why the author make a blog about FC Barcelona. I'll tell you first how I could fall in love with the greatest club in the world. The first time I watch FC Barcelona competed namely the 2006 Champions League final, when Barca beat Arsenal 2 - 1. Since then I started enamored with the style of their game, especially when Barca coached by Pep Guardiola and using tiki-taka style of play. No need to mince words again, this is the reason why I love to FC Barcelona:

  1. Their Uniqe Identity

The Blaugranas have their own youth academy known as ‘La Masia’ wherein the children are taught the Barcelona way of football which essentially involves a ‘pass and move’ style to keep possession and break down the opposition defence by manipulating them and creating space.Barcelona have developed a unique identity in world football for themselves and it is something that a team can manage to do only over a long period of time.
This is a style of football used to not just win but to dominate the opponent. The players can learn this style of football only in La Masia and this is exactly the reason why one-of-a-kind players like Pep Guardiola, Sergio Busquets and the newly found Sergi Samper, can be found only in their academy and they are tailor-made to play it their way.

2. Their way of living

The influence that the team has on its fans extends to one’s life itself and doesn’t stop with just celebrating a victory or moaning a loss. However, the influence is largely sub-conscious and the DNA of the club is gradually embedded within us.

The Blaugranas are predominantly defined by humility, hard work, aggression, a winning mentality and team-play and thus these traits have been gradually embedded into every Cule.

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff spoke about this influence on his own players during his reign as manager at the Camp Nou. He quoted the example of his squad doing everything from having lunch to training football at a ridiculously high speed.

3. They play beautiful football

If you never watch FC Barcelona, watch this video first so that you will know how wonderful the tiki taka.

Not everything beautiful is a winner, but it is still  beautiful. The current Barca generation is still playing the beautiful football they introduced last 2008-2009 season. The idea is to prevent the opponent from scoring by depriving them of the ball thru keeping the ball. They pass the ball with one or two touches, in intricate triangles formed by the players.

4. The fans
Image result for fc barcelona fans
The fans may not attend much at dead-rubber games, but come an important game, and the fans will flood the Camp Nou. Every start, the fans would sing the Barca anthem with full passion that they would defeat the loudspeakers in the loudness level. Every cheer, jeer, whistle, and gasp, the fans will react to the game. Every end of the game, they will sing the anthem again, win or lose.
So that's four reasons why I love FC Barcelona. I hope you enjoy this article. Thank you for reading this article and I'm apologize if there are errors in typing and word meanings
